Motorists on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lehigh County will encounter slow-moving and stopped traffic overnight.
From 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. Monday, northbound and southbound traffic approaching milepost A70.1 will encounter intermittent 30-minute stoppages so workers can erect toll gantries, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said in a news release.
During the stoppages, turnpike maintenance and state police vehicles will restrict traffic to speeds of 15-20 mph.
Changeable message signs will also provide information. Motorists are encouraged to plan travel accordingly. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.
Information on turnpike conditions is available online at 511pa.com or @PATurnpikeAlert on X (Twitter) or by calling 511.
